Can Lancing install and commission a flow wrapper?

Installation and commissioning can be included in the agreed project scope. Site readiness, offloading, positioning, utilities, access and production materials should be confirmed before the visit.

What should be ready before commissioning?

Provide the correct electrical services, safe access, approved product and film, upstream and downstream equipment, operators, maintenance personnel and any site permits required for the work.

Are operator and maintenance instructions included?

The documentation and training scope should be stated in the quotation. Agree the required language, number of personnel, planned products and whether maintenance training is required.

How should spare parts be planned?

Identify critical wear and change parts during the project, then agree an initial spares package based on operating hours, format range and the consequences of downtime.

Production handover

Turn commissioning settings into a repeatable operating standard

The accepted product and film settings should be captured before the project team leaves site. Operators then have a controlled starting point for production, changeovers and fault investigation.

Product and recipe record

Record product dimensions, approved film, former and change parts, bag length, pitch, registration, temperatures, jaw timing, conveyor speeds and code settings.

Pack-quality standard

Keep approved pack samples or images and define checks for dimensions, seals, print position, code, damage and rejects, including the frequency of production checks.

Operator and maintenance tasks

Separate routine operator inspections from planned maintenance work. State safe isolation, cleaning, lubrication, wear checks and the escalation route for recurring faults.

Final maintenance intervals must follow the supplied manual and the actual operating environment. The site plan should identify the components that affect web tracking, seal quality, product pitch and safe operation.

Send enough evidence to reproduce the problem

When requesting help, provide the machine model and serial details, product and film, recipe, alarm history, photographs or video, when the fault began and what changed immediately beforehand.

Pack-quality issue

Send accepted and rejected pack examples, film data, temperature and speed settings, and identify whether the fault affects the fin seal, end seal, cut, print or code.

Intermittent stoppage

Record alarm text, event order, product position, line state and whether the fault follows a product, reel, format, operator or production time.

Parts request

Use the machine identification and supplied parts information. Photographs and dimensions can help confirm the component but should not replace the correct part reference.

What settings should be recorded after commissioning?

Record the approved product and film, former and change parts, bag length, pitch, conveyor speeds, registration, temperatures, jaw timing, code settings, inspection limits and the accepted pack-quality checks for each format.

What should be included in an operator handover?

Cover safe start and stop, film loading, recipe selection, changeover, first-off approval, routine checks, cleaning, common alarms, reject handling, escalation and the limits of work permitted without maintenance isolation.

Use the right support evidence

Separate fault diagnosis, planned maintenance and site changes

Different support requests need different information. A current pack fault should be documented before settings are changed; planned maintenance should use the machine records; and a site or line modification should trigger an interface and safety review.

Current production fault

Capture affected packs, film identity, settings, alarms, fault location and a safe video of the product path.
